My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student brings unique perspectives and strengths to the classroom, and in my case, galleries and museums. As an educator, my primary goal is to encourage diverse viewpoints and active participation in class, fostering an environment where students feel heard, supported, and inspired to rise to the occasion and do their best work. I employ a variety of teaching strategies that include active learning, critical thinking,  inclusivity and equity. I am invested in student growth and committed to mentoring them academically and personally. Writing student recommendations is not only part of my role as an educator, but also incredibly fulfilling as they grow in the art world.

Through my dedication to teaching, I aspire to be an inspiration to the students on their learning journey, many becoming global citizens. Education has the power to transform lives, and I am committed to being a catalyst and participant in that transformational process. At NYU I have taught Undergraduate and Graduate students Introduction to the Galleries and Museums of New York. This course requires the students to write about the exhibitions we visit each week, which shows their comprehension of what we are looking at as well as lends the opportunity for critical discourse. They are reminded that every opinion matters! At Sotheby’s Institute I taught Art Marketing and Communications through the eyes of a journalist. This course is a rigorous look at how branding, marketing, PR, and communications play such an important role in contemporary art and how the art world operates. Students are given the opportunity to visit galleries in-situ, listen to guest speakers working in their chosen craft, and create a press packet about a show that they hope to curate. Currently, I am teaching two art history courses at Sacred Heart University, AR 101 Art in the Western World and AR 104 American Art and Architecture. Both courses have required text book reading and I conduct lectures and slide presentations during every session. Teaching art history is a rigorous practice and I strive to help the students engage with the past trying to find contemporary entry points from the art of our current times, literature, and pop culture.

I also do studio critique for MFA Students at NYU and am a core critic.
