While I have written catalogue essays for various artists throughout my career, in 2022 I commenced upon writing abbreviated essays for Press Releases. These essays allow me to write about an artist or artists in a candid way not as a review, but rather offering contemporary and historical context to the exhibition. Lauren West was an Artist-in-Residence at Tripoli Gallery in Spring 2023. She made a new body of work that is opening September 29, titled Down Here. The artist makes paintings that are representational and also surreal. They capture situations and scenes that may or may not have happened outside of the artist's mind and that is the joy of the conundrum for the viewer who is left to decide for themselves.

Press Release Essay: Monumental exhibition essay announcing a group show with artists Alice Aycock, April Gornik, Sally Egbert, Connie Fox, Mary Heilmann, Esther Ruiz, Sally Saul, and Mary Carlson. The gallery sought to create an all female exhibition shining a light on the historical artworks of artists who have been and still are a major part of a contemporary dialogue. The goal was to express the gallerists' interest in this subject which he feels extremely connected to, without ever identifying upfront that all of the artists are female identifying.

Press Release Essay: Solo exhibition featuring work by Australian artist Laith McGregor in a show titled Pace and Space. An iteration of this show will also be on view at The Surf Lodge in Montauk.

Press Release Essay: Lauren West is the fourth artist-in-residence at Tripoli Gallery and has a forthcoming exhibition titled "Down Here" opening September 23 and on view through October 23, 2023.

Press Release Essay for Jenny Brosinski and Cristina De Miquel, Almine Rech, New York. A first for the gallery in showing Cristina De Miquel, the two artists had a show in Europe together before venturing to New York for this two-person exhibition.
